ROME – On January 22, 1996, the program debuted Bruno Vespa, which changed the second evening of television, describing Italy through 17 governments, 11 prime ministers (all guests of the program with the exception of Mario Draghi), 4 popes, 3 Conclaves, 5 presidential elections with 3 presidents of the Republic (Ciampi, Napolitano, guests of the program, and Mattarella). And it is to celebrate these thirty years that tonight, January 21st, the Porta a Porta Special – 30 years of our lives will be broadcast live on Rai 1 at 9.45pm.

With over 3,617 episodes aired, Porta a Porta has become an institution, earning the nickname “the third Chamber of Parliament.” The show has hosted a wide range of guests, including prominent figures from the world of politics, entertainment, and culture.
The Special and the Guests
The Special is conceived as a great prime-time party with many guests from politics, culture, entertainment, and news: the political leaders exceptionally interviewed by the unprecedented couple made up of Bruno Vespa and Enrico Mentana, the protagonists of the Rai 1 show and the companions on a thirty-year journey. They will intervene Giorgia Meloni, Elly Schlein, Giuseppe Conte, Antonio Tajani, Matteo Salvini, and Matteo Renzi. They will be there then Carlo Conti, Milly Carlucci, Mara Venier, Antonella Clerici, Valeria Marini, Eleonora Daniele, Al Bano, Iva Zanicchi, Paolo Belli he’s in his band.
A Message from Pope Leo and a Visit to the Quirinale
Pope Leo sent Bruno Vespa a large happy birthday message, reflecting on the rules of good communication. The celebrations will then continue on February 9th when the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella will receive a Door to Door representation at the Quirinale.

On air for 3,617 episodes, Porta a Porta, in what was immediately renamed “the third Chamber of Parliament”, told everything, not only politics: current affairs, news, wars, the great international events of recent years, but it was also the stage of Italian entertainment: from Luciano Pavarotti to Andrea Bocelli, from Claudio Abbado to Riccardo Muti, from Mike Bongiorno to Carlo Conti, from Alberto Sordi to Gigi Proietti, from Franco Zeffirelli to Vittorio Gassman, from Raffaella Carrà to Fiorello.
