According to Bloomberg, Alibaba plans to unveil its artificial intelligence glasses at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, with pre-orders starting on March 2. Additionally, Equita Sim reports that Warby Parker has made significant progress in preparing to launch its own artificial intelligence glasses, expected to hit the market in 2026. The company was the first to launch smart glasses in partnership with Meta, and Meta also became a shareholder of the group created from the merger with Luxottica, founded by Leonardo Del Vecchio. In a recent conference call with financial analysts, Francesco Milleri, President and CEO of EssilorLuxottica, stated, “For our part, competition in the sector is welcome, but we think it is impossible to replicate our distribution platform, and not only, in the medium term. And it is also very difficult in the long term. However, competition is welcome.”
