Art SG 2026: A Resounding Success in Singapore’s Contemporary Art Scene
The fourth edition of Art SG, the premier contemporary art fair in Southeast Asia, concluded on January 25, 2026, with impressive sales and a significant turnout of art enthusiasts and collectors from around the world. With over 100 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and territories, the fair attracted over 43,000 visitors during its four-day run, solidifying Singapore’s position as a hub for contemporary art.
A Showcase of Diverse Talent and Initiatives
For the first time, Art SG hosted the eighth edition of Sea Focus, curated by John ZW Tung with artistic advice from Emi Eu, Executive Director of STPI. This year’s edition, entitled “The Humane Agency,” presented a diverse selection of artists and galleries from the region, accompanied by a program of high-profile discussions. Sea Focus drew important collectors and global institutional representatives, who welcomed the debut of the exhibition within Art SG, with exhibitors confirming excellent sales performance and strong interest from institutions.
Expanding Initiatives and Strategic Partnerships
Art SG expanded its program with new initiatives and strategic partnerships, including South Asia Insights, supported by the TVS Initiative, and the first collaboration with the Rockbund Art Museum (RAM) for the new Performance sector. The latter included the external presentation “Wan Hai Hotel: Singapore Strait,” curated by X Zhu-Nowell. The return of the Sam Art SG Fund, with additional support from Pierre Lorinet, enabled the Singapore Art Museum to acquire works by Mona Hatoum and Lotus Kang. The debut of the Art SG Futures Prize, presented by UBS, saw the awarding of the Filipino-Canadian interdisciplinary artist Marigold Santos.
