Book Pride 2026: Celebrating Independent Publishing and Literary Excellence
The 10th edition of Book Pride, the national independent publishing fair, is set to take place on March 20, 21, and 22 at Superstudio Maxi in Milan. This year’s event is accompanied by Emily Dickinson’s inspiring verses “Hope is the thing with feathers,” reflecting the fair’s mission to promote literary excellence and diversity. The Turin International Book Fair has organized this prestigious event, which promises to bring together renowned authors, publishers, and book enthusiasts from around the world.
Guest Authors and Speakers
Book Pride 2026 boasts an impressive lineup of guest authors, including the Catalan writer Clara Usón, who will discuss her book “Le belve” (Sellerio Editore). The English author Claire Lynch will also be present, talking about her successful debut novel “A family matter” (Fazi Editore). Additionally, the British journalist Phoebe Greenwood will share her experiences and insights from her book “Avvoltoi” (Edizioni e/o), a satirical narrative set in Gaza in 2012. The philosopher Silvia Grasso will engage in a discussion with writer Carolina Capria on the concept of sexual difference in the history of philosophy, based on her book “The differences we are going through” (Mimesis Edizioni). Other notable participants include writers Daria Bignardi and Chiara Alessi, who will explore the themes of inhabiting the female body and solitudes.
New Initiatives and Celebrations
This year’s Book Pride also introduces “Acrobate,” a new space for literary meetings dedicated to writers who have transformed emptiness and fear into words. The three-day event will also celebrate significant literary anniversaries, including the 200th birthday of Carlo Collodi, the centenary of the Nobel Prize awarded to Grazia Deledda, and the 50th anniversary of the death of Agatha Christie. These celebrations will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to reflect on the contributions of these literary giants and their lasting impact on the world of literature.
