Brigitte Bardot’s Final Resting Place: A Controversy in Saint-Tropez
The passing of French actress Brigitte Bardot has sparked a debate about her final resting place. According to recent reports, Bardot will be buried in the Saint-Tropez cemetery, overlooking the bay, in the Bardot-Mucel family tomb, where her grandparents and parents are laid to rest. However, the condition of the tomb, with its broken headstone, old plastic flowers, and battered pot of evergreens, has raised concerns.

The municipality of Saint-Tropez has confirmed that the burial will take place on January 7th, despite initial reports suggesting that Bardot would be buried on her La Madrague estate. The estate, which is located near the sea, has sandy soil and is prone to landslides, making it an unsuitable location for a burial.

A Different Account from a Close Friend
Wendy Bouchard, a journalist and close friend of Bardot, has a different account of the actress’s final wishes. According to Bouchard, Bardot wanted to be buried in the garden of her La Madrague estate, where she had spent many years and had buried many animals that she had rescued. However, this would require a special permit from the local Prefecture, which has not been issued.
