The Turkish actor, Can Yaman, known for his role as Sandokan, will be joining Carlo Conti and Laura Pausini as a co-host for the first evening of the Sanremo Festival. This announcement comes after Yaman’s recent success in the series directed by Jan Maria Michelini and Nicola Abbatangelo, which aired on Rai 1 in four prime-time slots. The series, a remake of the classic drama Sandokan, saw Yaman take on the role of the Malaysian Tiger, alongside Alessandro Preziosi as Yanez.
The news of Yaman’s co-hosting gig was announced by Carlo Conti himself, who posted a photomontage on Instagram featuring Yaman in the role of Sandokan, with the title ‘Carlokan’ and a single word in the post: “co-co”. Can Yaman’s Rise to Fame
Can Yaman, 36, has quickly become one of the most popular actors in the industry, debuting in Turkish series, known as dizi. Born in Istanbul, Yaman attended Italian high school and later graduated in Law. However, he soon found himself unhappy with his career in law and made his debut in the series Affairs of the Heart in 2014. Since then, he has gone on to star in several successful series, including Full Moon, Daydreamer – The Wings of the Dream, and May God help us 6, before being chosen to play the iconic role of Sandokan.
