President Sergio Mattarella Hosts Children from Family Homes for Christmas Celebration
Sixty girls and boys hosted in family homes by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, took part in the afternoon at the Quirinale in ‘Christmas Gifts’, a social initiative organized by the Presidency of the Republic, now in its fifth edition. The event aimed to bring joy and festive cheer to the children, who were proposed by Roma Capitale from various family homes, including Bice Porcu family home, Mirella home, and Cooperativa Sociale I Naviganti Onlus, among others.
The head of state met the children hosted in family homes, who were treated to a snack and gifts under the fir tree, decorated at the Vetrata. The children also had the opportunity to take part in a buffet, complete with cotton candy, and a cake with a candle for a little girl’s birthday. The event was a heartwarming occasion, filled with Christmas songs, lights, and laughter.

“What magnificent silence…”, joked Sergio Mattarella in greeting his little festive guests, to whom he said: “It is a pleasure to have you here, and I hope it is for you too. This Palace is more beautiful with your presence and this is an occasion that gives the sense of Christmas. And of the new year – he remarks – for the future that you represent”. The President’s words were a testament to the importance of spreading joy and hope, especially during the holiday season.
As is customary on these occasions, Mattarella shook hands and had individual and group photos taken with the children.
