Young Italian Artists Shine at Capri Hollywood Festival
The 30th edition of the Capri Hollywood festival is currently underway on the picturesque island of Capri, showcasing the talents of young Italian artists. Among the protagonists of this year’s event are Martina Ferragamo, Luigi Zeno, Alessandro Gervasi, Cartisia Somma, Francesca Bergesio, Francesco Del Gaudio, Elena Preziosi, and Annaluce Cuomo. These emerging artists have been recognized for their outstanding performances in various short films and projects, demonstrating their potential to make a significant impact in the entertainment industry.
Awards and Recognition
Martina Ferragamo received the Revelation Actress Award for her role in the short film “Eh” by Simone Coppo. In her acceptance speech, she dedicated the award to her grandmother, Wanda Ferragamo, who had chosen Capri as her home after the death of her husband. Cartisia Somma, daughter of Sebastiano and Morgana, was also awarded for her multifaceted talent, which she has already demonstrated in cinema, fiction, and theatre. Luigi Zeno was recognized for his performance in the short film “The Thin Line”, which addresses the topic of bullying, emphasizing the importance of solidarity towards victims of peer cruelty.
Young Talent on the Rise
Alessandro Gervasi, a 7-year-old musical prodigy, was rewarded for his role in the film “Champagne”, where he played Peppino di Capri, a child pianist. Director Cinzia TH Torrini, who directed him in the film, praised his talent, and actor and musician Francesco Del Gaudio also acknowledged his impressive performance. Elena Preziosi, daughter of Alessandro and Vittoria Puccini, presented the “Person of the Year” award to a Neapolitan actor, director, and producer, and received a “Nuovo Imaie – Antonello Fassari” award from president Andrea Micciché. Annaluce Cuomo, also 7 years old, was applauded for her role in the short film “Sirens” by Walter D’Errico, which conveys a strong humanitarian message.
Festival Details and Sponsors
The Capri Hollywood festival, which runs until January 2, features free screenings and meetings, and is promoted by the Ministry of Culture and the Campania Region, with the participation of Intesa Sanpaolo and Givova.
