Sigep World: The Ultimate Foodservice Expo Kicks Off in Rimini
The 47th edition of Sigep World, The World Expo for Foodservice Excellence, officially began on Friday, January 16, at Rimini Fair and will continue until Tuesday, January 20. Organized by Italian Exhibition Group, the event brings together the main supply chains of the foodservice industry, from production to technologies, with a focus on ice cream, pastry, chocolate, coffee, bread, and pizza. Over 1,300 exhibitors are participating, with a growing international component of 33% compared to last year. Expected buyers from 75 countries, including India, which is the Guest Country 2026, will attend the event.
The 2026 edition of Sigep World has officially kicked off, with the inaugural ceremony attended by prominent figures, including Alessandra Locatelli, Minister for Disabilities, Michele de Pascale, President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, and Lorenzo Galanti, General Director of ICE Agency. The event aims to promote innovation, quality, and inclusion in the foodservice industry.
Opening Ceremony and Institutional Interventions
Alessandra Locatelli emphasized the social and inclusive role of the fair, stating, “I thank Sigep World and Italian Exhibition Group for this occasion, which demonstrates that innovation, quality, and inclusion can and must walk together.” Michele de Pascale highlighted the strategic role of the event, saying, “Sigep World represents an event of international importance for the promotion of the ‘know-how’ of Emilia-Romagna.” Lorenzo Galanti illustrated the ICE initiatives connected to the fair, including support for over 500 foreign buyers and 20 national and international start-ups in the Sustainability District.

Judge Magrini underlined the importance of innovation and internationalization, stating, “Investing means enhancing productive excellence, anticipating trends, and engaging with the world, confirming Rimini as a point of reference for the main Italian and European expo.” Maurizio Ermeti, President of Italian Exhibition Group, highlighted the international growth of the Sigep brand, saying, “Sigep is already present in Singapore, China, and the United States, and today hosts a delegation from India. Our goal is to strengthen the global reference platform for the supply chains involved.”
