Laura Pausini to Co-Host Sanremo 2026: A New Chapter in Her Illustrious Career

Laura Pausini, the renowned Italian singer-songwriter, is set to co-host the 2026 Sanremo Music Festival, marking a new milestone in her distinguished career. Pausini’s journey with Sanremo began in 1993 when she won the Nuove Proposte category with her hit single “La Solitudine.” She then consolidated her success in 1994 with “Strani Amori,” which placed third. Over the years, Pausini has made several appearances as a super guest at the festival, including in 2001, 2006, 2016, 2018, 2021, and 2022.

A Career Spanning Decades

Pausini’s career is a testament to her talent and dedication. With over 75 million records sold worldwide and more than 6 billion streams, she is one of the most successful Italian artists globally. Her accolades include a Grammy Award, four Latin Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, an Oscar nomination, and an Emmy Award. In 2023, she was celebrated as the “Person of the Year” by the Latin Recording Academy, a first for a non-native Spanish speaker.

Co-Hosting Sanremo 2026

Pausini will share the stage with Carlo Conti, the artistic director of the festival, for the five evenings of the 2026 event. Conti jokingly revealed that he convinced Pausini to co-host by singing “La Solitudine” for thirty days straight. Pausini expressed her excitement and honor at being part of the festival, stating, “Sanremo is my destiny. My smile. My temptation. My fear.” She also thanked Conti for helping her overcome her initial hesitation to take on the role.

Upcoming Projects

In addition to co-hosting Sanremo, Pausini is set to release a new covers album, “Io Canto 2,” on February 6, which pays tribute to Italian singer-songwriters, performers, and composers. She will also embark on a live tour, starting from Pamplona on March 27, which will take her to various cities in Europe, Latin America, and the United States. The tour will conclude with a mega show in the stadiums and a winter reprise in Italy and Europe.
