Laura Pausini to Co-Host Sanremo Festival with Carlo Conti

The rumor had been circulating since before Christmas, and the confirmation arrived on Tg1 from Carlo Conti, artistic director and host of the Sanremo Festival: Laura Pausini will support him on the five evenings. «I am very happy, excited, Sanremo is my destiny, it is all my smiles, my fears. Sanremo is all my smiles, my fears. And it’s Carlo.” The two shared a lighthearted moment, with Conti joking that he convinced Pausini to join him by singing “Solitude” for thirty days, out of tune.

Pausini, a renowned Italian singer, has a long history with the Sanremo Festival, having participated twice as a competitor and won in 1993 with “Solitude.” She has also taken the Ariston stage several times as a super guest. When asked about her role as co-host, Pausini said she thinks she’ll be a fan, but Conti explained that she will help him throughout the evenings. The two will be joined by various co-hosts who will liven up the Ariston stage.

Pausini’s Career and Upcoming Projects

Laura Pausini is an export star, with six Grammys, including five Latin Grammys, and was recognized as Person of the Year in 2023. She has a new album, Io canto 2, set to release on February 6th, which is the second part of her best-selling cover album released twenty years ago. Pausini will also be performing at the opening ceremony of the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics at the San Siro Stadium in Milan on February 6th, alongside Andrea Bocelli and Mariah Carey.

In November, there were rumors that Pausini had made it a condition to be the only woman on stage, but she denied this, calling it a falsehood. Pausini has always been grateful to her mentor, Pippo Baudo, who she credits with changing her life. She won the Golden Globe (and was nominated for an Oscar) with “Io Sì/Seen,” the song from the film Life Ahead, directed by Edoardo Ponti and starring Sophia Loren.

A New Chapter for Pausini

Now, Pausini will be taking the stage at the Sanremo Festival, and cheering is prohibited. With her extensive experience and expertise in the music industry, Pausini is sure to bring a new level of excitement to the festival. For more information, visit Here
