Michele Bravi’s Artistic Vision and New Musical Project

Michele Bravi, a renowned Italian singer-songwriter, is set to participate in the 76th edition of the Sanremo festival with his new song “Prima o Poi” (Sooner or Later). This marks his third time in Sanremo, and he has somewhat undermined his artistic vision by exploring a new musical path. According to Bravi, his previous two performances were rooted in the singer-songwriter ballad genre, but this time, he has incorporated a more theatrical and cinematic approach to his music.

A New Musical Direction

Bravi’s new song, “Prima o Poi,” is an internal monologue on the sense of inadequacy, dedicated to those who have felt out of place in the world. He describes it as the feeling of being in the rain without knowing which intercom to ring or moving clumsily in search of a familiar point to return to. The song also touches on the theme of how life can be more banal and broken than how we often portray it. Bravi believes that sometimes, our surroundings do not align with our inner selves, and this disconnect can be a source of sadness and discomfort.

Sanremo Performance and Collaborations

For his Sanremo performance, Bravi will be accompanied by Maestro Alterisio Paoletti, a talented Italian musician who has worked with notable artists such as Celine Dion and David Foster. Bravi praises Paoletti’s genius and reveals that their collaboration has ensured that the theatricality of the performance is not only reflected in his own voice but also in the orchestra’s accompaniment. The video clip for “Prima o Poi” also marks an important collaboration with Ilenia Pastorelli, who has made her directorial debut with this project. Bravi entrusted Pastorelli with the creative direction, and he is thrilled with the outcome, stating that her vision allowed him to treat the song as if it were not his own.

Visual Translation and Upcoming Projects

Bravi is continuing his collaboration with Mauro Balletti, Mina’s historic photographer, for the visual translation of his new project. They are taking a more ironic and pop approach, and Bravi is excited to explore this new narrative. He admits that he was unsure if “Prima o Poi” was the right song for Sanremo, but the enthusiastic reception from his team and family convinced him to move forward. The song will be part of a new recording project, set to be released before the summer, and will be followed by a tour.

Thoughts on Eurovision and Social Issues

Bravi shared his thoughts on the possibility of participating in Eurovision, stating that he would not consider it until the time is right. He also expressed his opposition to the culture of cancellation and his belief in democracy, emphasizing the importance of allowing people to express their thoughts and opinions. Additionally, Bravi commented on the Ghali case at the opening ceremony of the Olympics, arguing that dissent should not be confused with simply expressing one’s thoughts and values.
