New Year’s Celebrations in Pescara: Free Concerts and Events
The city of Pescara is gearing up for an exciting New Year’s Eve celebration, with two free concerts lined up for December 31st and January 1st. The concerts will feature renowned Italian artists Gianna Nannini and Irama, performing on a stage set up in the former waste area on the north side of the city. According to Mayor Carlo Masci, the city is “ready to experience an extraordinary New Year’s Eve, with unmissable events, free for the public, organized by the Municipality”.
Gianna Nannini’s Concert on December 31st
Gianna Nannini’s concert is scheduled to start at 10 pm on December 31st and will continue until midnight, marking the arrival of the new year. Following Nannini’s performance, the Pescara musical group Scena Muta will take the stage at 00.15, keeping the party going into the early hours of the morning. The event is expected to draw in large crowds, with the city anticipating tens of thousands of visitors from all over Italy.
Irama’s Concert on January 1st and the Olympic Flame Passage
On the afternoon of January 1st, Irama will take the stage, offering another exciting musical experience for the crowds. Additionally, on January 2nd, Pescara will host the passage of the Olympic Flame, with the lighting of the brazier in Piazza della Rinascita, where the Eni Coca Cola village will be set up. The event will start at 5 pm, adding to the city’s festive atmosphere.
Traffic Changes and Preparations
To accommodate the large number of visitors and events, the city has planned a series of traffic changes in the center. Mayor Masci encourages everyone to “enjoy these splendid days, with our loved ones and friends, let’s end the year and welcome 2026 together, and let’s do it with music”.
