Bible Sales Reach Record High in the UK, Driven by Young People’s Search for Spirituality

This trend is also reflected in the growth of church attendance in England and Wales, which has increased by 50% since 2018, with young people leading the charge.
A report published by the Bible Society in April 2025 found that the number of people attending church in England and Wales has increased significantly, with a notable rise among 18- to 24-year-olds. In 2018, only 4% of this age group reported attending church monthly, but by 2024, this percentage had risen to 16%, representing the largest increase among all age groups. This shift suggests that young people are increasingly seeking spiritual guidance and community.
