Rome’s iconic Colosseum, one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world, is now open for night visits, offering a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors. Every Tuesday and Thursday night, from 20.00 until midnight, with the last entry at 22.30, the ancient amphitheatre is bathed in a mesmerizing glow, revealing its secrets and stories to those who dare to explore it under the stars.

The Una notte al Colosseo initiative allows visitors to delve into the history and grandeur of the Colosseum, with guided tours available in Italian, English, and Spanish. These hour-long tours, which cater to groups of up to 25 people, take visitors on a journey through the first order of the monument, the arena floor, and the underground areas that once housed gladiators and wild animals before combat.

A Journey Through Time

As visitors make their way through the ancient structure, they are treated to a multimedia experience, complete with projections, holographic displays, and educational videos. The tour also includes a visit to the new permanent exhibition in the underground area, which focuses on the protagonists of the spectacles, showcasing original exhibits, reconstructions of ancient armour, and interactive displays. With tickets priced at €50 (Full Experience ticket €24 + guided tour €26) or a reduced rate of €28 for certain categories, and free for children under the age of six, this experience is accessible to a wide range of visitors.

According to the official Colosseum website, tickets can be reserved up to seven days before the scheduled date of the visit, making it easy to plan a night to remember in Rome.
